Have you ever thought about what people will do when gas runs out? How will people get to other places? Solar power energy will be an excellent alternative-energy resource when gas runs out. Solar power energy mainly has advantages and benefits, which is why the United States should use it. Solar power energy could save Earth from Global Warming. What is Global Warming? Global Warming is when gas, coal, and other fossil fuels pollute the Earth’s atmosphere, the atmosphere of Earth thickens. When the atmosphere thickens, the rays from the sun go through the atmosphere, and get trapped inside Earth, which makes Earth warmer. It is also known as the Green House Effect. What really should happen, if humans didn’t pollute the Earth, is the atmosphere wouldn’t be as thick, so the rays from the sun would go through the atmosphere, and some of the suns rays would stay inside the Earth, while the other rays would go back outside of Earths atmosphere.
What are some reasons why the United States should use solar power energy? A reason why the United States should use solar power energy is because it doesn’t pollute the air. When a resource doesn’t pollute the air, it is a good resource. Solar power energy is a great resource since it doesn’t pollute the air, so it could easily replace gas. If it could replace gas, we could save the Earth from Global Warming. Global Warming can cause a lot of disastrous phenomenons. Phenomenons that are caused by Global Warming include, ice/glaciers melting (even Alaska), more disastrous hurricanes/cyclones/typhoons, and many more disastrous phenomenons.
What is another reason why the United States should use solar power energy? Another reason that the United States should use solar power energy is because it is a renewable resource. Solar power energy being renewable is a good thing. Since it is renewable, you can use over, and over again, until the sun blows up in over a billion years. It also means that solar power energy could replace gas for over a billion years.
Another reason that solar power energy is an excellent resource is because it is better than most of the other resources. For example, geothermal energy people have to dig very far down into the Earth in some areas of the world to find it; hydroelectric energy dams kill some fish as they are swimming in the water and deteriorate the soil around the water; nuclear energy is so dangerous that it can destroy life completely; coal gives off more pollutants than gas and isn’t renewable; gas gives off pollutants and isn’t renewable; wind energy has to be blowing for it to work, people don’t like the look of windmills everywhere, and birds can die from the propellers.
There are many advantages for solar power energy, but there are also some disadvantages. One disadvantage about solar power energy is that solar panels are expensive and some people can’t afford them (for an entire solar home, heats, lights, water, and electricity, is $100,000-$200,000, or more). Another disadvantage about solar power energy is that some areas in the United States aren’t sunny year round. When it isn’t sunny, people would have to either use batteries in their solar panels, or they would have to place the panels on the roof where the sun hits the most, if they want a lot of power. Even though there are some disadvantages, solar power energy is a great alternative-energy source, because it has many more benefits than disadvantages.
Overall the United States should use solar power energy to heat their homes, use electricity, and to do many other things that you do everyday. Don’t you want to have electricity when you get older? Then please try to do something about it, and switch to solar power energy!
